I met my best friend Pat Findon during the war. We were living in a village and had evacuees coming from London. We were told to be nice to the children because they鈥檇 had to leave their mum and dads. Pat was one of the children and we liked each other straight away. Pat and I have been friends ever since then. That鈥檚 a long friendship isn鈥檛 it? And now I am 75 and she is 77 and she is still my best friend.
