I was working for an invalid lady who lived in Court Road in 1941. One night a 500lb bomb blew out our local shelter and the next day we went to see the damage to our garden which was nearby. I went to look for my bike and I couldn't see it anywhere - also the garden roller had disappeared. I remember asking someone, "Where's my bike gone?" I then saw that it had ended up on the other side of the road. It had been blown across the main road and landed in the churchyard.
