I am the grandaughter of Kenneth (Ken) Spencer. My Grandfather was a soldier with the Royal Leicestershire 2nd 5th Batallion (the Tigers) during World War 2.
My Grandfather (affectionately known to all his friends as 'Ken' or 'Spenner') was taken Prisoner of War during World War 2 at the Cassarine Pass. I also believe, that he took part in the 'Death March'
I am looking for anyone who knew him. He was a very brave man, and he was always very proud of the part he played during the War, and the medals he was awarded were always on display in his home. He signed up as soon as he could in 1939.
I am looking to write out a full history of him, and would be very grateful for any information received. My Grandfather sadly passed away in 2001.
I am especially interested in the soldiers that knew him, but it would be great to hear from anyone who can remember him.
Many thanks.
