In Decamber 1941 I enlisted and was sent to the FANNY's in Camberley Surry,after training, I was sent to Fort Wallington nr Fort Nelson on top of Portsdown Hill. There I drove the C.O. and other Officers to variouse places!! On one occasion Godfrey Wynn the Journalist came to write a story for his Sunday Paper called 'Boy's and Girls of an Ach Ach Regt'! I had to pick him up and return him to Portsmouth Station! Later I joined '70th Sussex Searchlight Regt' I was at the Headquarters, 'Jericho Priory' Blackmore Essex. There I drove the C.O and other officers around.I used to drive the C.O. on Opps at 'North Weald' `R.A.F. Station. that was where I met my future husband. who was a Pilot with 2 Squadren. I was demobed in 1945 then was able to start married life!
