Mary Park's husband went to war, she was very happy when the war ended. In the local Baptist church Elsie Chapman was playing badminton one night and the next night the church was bombed. Towards the end of the war they sent over V1's which were flying bombs, and then V2's which were rockets. If the engine cut out they would drop and kill people. The food was rationed and very dull but sufficient. In Dunkirk 1940
