Dear Joyfuldevongirl,

If your Father was in the Field Artillery, then he could have been in 323 Bty 81st Field Regiment Royal Artillery. Learn more about this Regiment at:-

However, he may have been in a Medium Regiment, a Heavy Regiment, an Antiaircraft Regiment (Light, Medium or Heavy) and I expect many more that I have no knowledge about.
I wonder if you can get more information from your photos?
I have found that by scanning at about 1200 dpi and then printing much larger (A4) you can see detail that is lost in a small photo. It can take several minuets to scan at this detail but it could be worth the effort. You may see badges that could be useful clues.

Hello Ed

Thank you for your suggestons. I'm all the Army regements,units etc etc are beyond me,now Air Force I am more familiar with.However,I will press on with my search.
I would like to take up your offer to email you with ref to possible contact in Holland. Late evening now,so will put that on my 'to do' list when I am more bright eyed and bushy tailed...hopefully.
