I served in the Womens Land Army and was based at Snodland. I was in my late teens/early twenties and I soon learnt what cows and bulls got up to.

But what sticks in my mind most is my driving skills. I was driving the farmer's tractor and I let it go in the ditch and jumped off.

When I got back to the farm and told him he said "What the bloody hell have you been up to?"

Then I drove his combine harvester ande knocked his gatepost down. But I think my best memory is helping to bring a little bull calf into the world. I used to brush him and take him for walks.
