During the war we would go potato picking and saw doodle bugs flying over head going towards the Bourne Aerodrome which housed Mosquitoes (fighter bombers). When the enemy bombers headed home they would lighten their load by dropping bombs and on two occasions these bombs landed very near us.
When I was a soldier I patrolled the Suez canal, when we gained control the Egyptians said the war would begin again soon and in 1956 they were proved true.
