The enclosed photograph shows my two uncles who met each other in Algiers by accident in 1943.
Alan and Leslie Whipps of Birmingham.
Leslie was serving in No 9 Commando, Alan in R.C.Signals.
Leslie was instructed to go to visit one of his mates who was in army hospital and see if he needed anything.When he visited the hospital Surprise! Surprise! his brother Alan was in the next bed.A few days later they were able to have this photo taken.
Later in Italy they were able to meet again a couple of times.
