I was 14 and we were living in Bitton Street in Teignmouth, Devon and we got bombed at night and lost the roof of our house. We hid under the stairs whilst it was happening.
The house was so badly damaged it was eventually demolished.
My grandmother was so shell shocked she refused to sleep under a roof.
So for three nights I slept with my granparents in a garden shed on an allotment opposite Teignmouth cemetry.
