I served with the desert rats late in 1941 and was on Malta and Sicily during 1942 and 1943. I returned to England in 1943 for training with RM Commandos in preparation for the D Day landings. I was on landing in Normandy and served in the liberation of France, Belgium and Holland . I took part in the landing on Walchern Island in November 1944 and went finally to Germany until hostilities ended in Europe in 1945.
