Margaret remembers when she was a very young girl sitting outside York Street Railway Station drinking a mug of broth. She was being evacuated along with another girl to Bushmills. They ended up in a manse to stay with a bachelor minister and a housekeeper.
The housekeeper made things very difficult for the girls, so much so, that the girls' mothers came up one day and brought them back home. While at home, there was a big air-raid which she remembers as rather scary. She was evacuated to a place in County Down.
