My father's story is about the Royal Army Medical Corps. These were the men who went into battle with only bandages and other medical equipment, only the officers were armed.

The story starts from call-up in 1939, basic training, BEF France, evacuation from Dunkirk, more training, the invasion of Madagascar, more training in India and North Africa, the invasion of Scicily, Italy, Monte Casino, the River Garigliano Crossing, post D-Day Belgium and the final battles in Germany. Finally, post war medical facilities in Germany, then home for demob.

This story has already been published on the internet and can be viewed at www.gendocs.demon.co.uk/ramc/index.html where there are a large number of photo's, maps and documents for viewing.
