Whilst the recent Dunkirk series was indeed both a graphic whilst sad detailed account of what happened in Northern France, what about the c100,000 other British troops that were left to escape via other means? It seems to me that very little has been spoken about the days after Dunkirk and the fate that many soldiers endured trying to escape from Western France! My Grandfather died on the HMT Lancastria along with c 5000 other soldiers trying to get back to England via St Nazaire in the west of France. The ship was bombed by the Germans and as a result sunk extremely quickly with the greatest loss of life at sea this country has ever experienced!! At the time this information was censored but why after all this time have these brave men not been remembered? SO 大象传媒 time to do some research and honour these men too!
