Nelson was born between the late 1920鈥檚 and early 1930鈥檚.
He was the eighth child of a large family born in Roland鈥檚 Castle Hampshire.
When Nelson was a boy he saw his elder brother, Leonard Charles Farr go into the navy.
So when the Second World War broke out, Nelson decided that he wanted to join the navy too at sixteen years old.
Nelson and Leonard saw everything that took place during the fighting at sea.
But one evening, the Air Craft Carrier ship that Nelson was on, whilst returning to Portsmouth Harbour was attacked by a German U Boat and the ship sank, sadly taking crew including the loss of Nelson aged just 17years.
This fatal sinking was witnessed by a sister ship.
Sadly, Nelson鈥檚 brother Leonard was still waiting for his brother鈥檚 safe return at the Portsmouth Harbour.
This was very upsetting for the whole family who lost their loved ones.
