On this day in 1945, my mother Mrs June Wilton and my Grandmother Mrs Edith Cloud took me (Philip Wilton) to vist my Grandfather Mr Percy Cloud who was in West Middlesex Hospital recovering from an operation to remove his appendix.
We found him sitting on a balcony with a glass of wiskey in his hand holding it up and toasting us and that is how I spent V.E.Day
