I lived with my parents at Deightonby Street, Thurnscoe. I can remember looking through the bedroom window as the Germans bombed Sheffield. The view was so complicated and it was so hard to try to understand what the Germans were doing to Sheffield. My parents took me to Sheffield to see the damage done there.
Food was rationed and you had to have ration books or you had no food allowed.
I hope that no war happens again for anyone.
