This is an official picture of the RCAF squadron my father was with, taken about 1943 in Nova Scotia
My father was born in London in 1921 and joined the RAF at the age of 19. He did his training in Britain and was subsequently transfered to the Royal Canadian Airforce for two years (approx 1941-1943), before returning to serve in the UK for the last 2-3 years of his war service. I believe that in Canada he was mainly stationed in Nova Scotia near the town of Halifax in a Mosquito squadron protecting north Atlantic shipping. I have many photos of the the Canada period but not many of his time in UK. I am going to try and attach a couple of the Canadian photos here. One is an official photo of the whole squadron with a Mosquito and the other an unofficial photo of my Dad and another airman in the cockpit of (I believe a Mosquito). Upon his return to Britain my Dad served in a number of roles mainly in the North of England including crash recovery and also a period with a Polish Squadron. My Father was an FME. He left the RAF in 1946. This information is based on my memories of some of his accounts as he passed away several years ago.
