I was born at the end of February 1943. I was told that shortly before my birth my mother in an air raid was asked to go down to the Air Raid Shelter in the Garden.

She refused to go and said something like if I'm going to die I will die in my house.

The Bungalow was straddled by bombs.

The House and my mother was unhurt.
