Richard baker told us about the Germans singing Christmas carols and therefore we found out about the truce with the Germans for the Christmas period. It lasted for two days. We played target practice the Germans.
After the two days, we attacked. We went over in to their trench and found no-one just an elaborate system of pulleys and string attached to machine guns!
