Dad was working in the Aux Fire Brigade in Rochdale and then got transfered to Manchester when the bombing started. He was in charge of looking after the water in the back of the fire engine. He was stood on top of it when a bomb dropped nearby and blew him right off and dragged him underneath. He had a few bruises afterwoods but that was all. A day he'll never forget - A lucky escape!
