There was a dog fight in the sky and this plane came down, and one came down behind my house, I was about 6 and i wanted to see it. My mother said don't go over, but the stubble on the feet was hard. When we arrived there was an ambulance and nothing left of the plane.
Many years ago i worked as a hairdresser and all of a sudden i met the ambulance driver who was at the scene at the time.
Another man came in the hairdressers shop and suddenly he said he did his training in Wales and he knew my father (had blonde hair he said). My father was killed during the raids on Normandy on D-day. My father is buried in Cden Normandy.
My father was on leave from South Africa at the early stages of the war he saw General Montgomery and he recognised him from his training in 1939
