My father and I left for work early on a Monday morning, we caught the 6.30am train most days,on this day we and some others were waiting on the platform, when we were aware of a droning noise, we all looked up to see a sight that we had not seen before, it was our fist sighting of the Doodle Bug or flying bomb.
With its own noise and the flame shooting out from the rear it was a frightening sight. Of course there is always someone who knows everything and this man stated " there is no pilot in that thing you know", to prove him right the noise stopped, all went very quite until a load explosion. That was the start of many until the V2 rocket took over, that is another story.
