We all met at our school as instructed with our gas masks and kit bags, i was one of four children leaving our mum and dad, iwas the third youngest i had a younger brother. they took us to st.pancras station, where they put us on a train to luton in bedfordshire. we had no prior addresses to go to we had to walk the streets and where picked at random or how strong you looked. i don't know how long we were walking i only know i was very tired. we marched up wellington st, all around that area,
one women saw my elder brother carrying four kitbags and said i will take him, my brother had instructions from our mother saying not to split us up, so she took us all.
from that time on we do the house work, errands ,any tasks given.
we made many friend's from london, one in perticular was dickie moore he was in the same possition a slave, by the time we were nine he had had enough, and ran away to london to find his parents, i have never heard from him since. i could go and on but it was not happy time
