On Thursday 16 June 2005, we interviewed Mr Morris who luckily survived World War Two.
Mr Morris wished to be in the R.A.F. which stands for the Royal Air Force, sadly he was not put in the R.A.F. He was put in the Navy with his brother and friend.
When he arrived in the Navy he was put as close to the front-line as you could get. He was then shown how to use the Oracan,
BomBom, Ack-acks and a Rifle.
His favourite weapon was a Rifle because of its strong and powerful fire.
Mr Morris got sent all over, two of these places were the French Coast and the South Coast.
Mr Morris was sent on a ship along with 299 other people. On the ship there were cooked meals for everybody.
Mr Morris had made lots of friends on the ship, mostly because when all the crew went to bed 60 of them had to sleep in hammocks in one small room.
On the ship they played cards and chess as well as work. In their spare time after work they played cards in their hammocks and chess on the floor.
As Mr Morris and his crew entered enemy territory (France), they heard gunfire in the distance. The battle began. Luckily Mr Morris didn't get any injuries except a sprained ankle.
On the ship it was very very strict, if someone told you to do something you had to do it or else you would get taken in a room and get caned so many times it would hurt for a week .
