To My Friend at the Front
The front of the postcard reads:
To My Friend at the Front
I don鈥檛 know where you are old man,
But I guess you鈥檙e somewhere right.
Giving a good account of yourself,
Perhaps in the thick of the fight.
I don鈥檛 know how you fare old chap,
But I guess you鈥檙e getting along
T鈥檌s a deuce of a job you鈥檝e got to beat,
And I reckon you鈥檙e going it strong.
T鈥檌s but a word of cheer I send,
But I wish it straight and true,
And I hope you鈥檒l soon be back again,
With our Kings 鈥淏est Thanks鈥 to you.
The words on the back of the postcard read:
Words on postcard home:
To George From Tom
To Ernie and George, with my best love and kisses from somewhere in France, and be good 鈥榯il I come back.
Ernie xxxx
George xxxx
