Mr Corr lost four or five cousins during the war. Some of his school friends also fought in the war. He recalls visiting Belfast the day after a heavy night of bombing. He told me about seeing train loads of German prisoners in Cookstown, Co Tyrone and Moygashel, Co. Tyrone. He remembers them being taken in huge numbers from trains and marched to prison camps. In Moygashel, the German prisoners could be observed behind the wire fencing. US troops, some of whom were black or of mixed race were stationed in Carrickmore, Co Tyrone.
