Corporal Frank Bunting, a military police officer from the 2nd Battalion of the Grenadier Gaurds was my father and this was what he told me about Dunkirk.
There was complete chaos and uproar on the beach, wounded being brought back to the hospital, supplies taken to the troops with considerable difficulty, the whole scene was one of complete mayhem.
He also witnessed a policeman killed right in front of his eyes, and immediately replaced him directing traffic in extreme conditions risking his own life.
He was later awarded the Military Cross.
