We did not go to the school shelters when the "siren" was sounded as we had too many false alarms. However the senior boys were sent out on look-out to warn of every aircraft. One day the lads yelled "DUCK" all pupils plunged under their desks. A bomb was dropped which landed on the shelters. No damage was suffered by the occupied classrooms. The only windows affected were in a Classroom vacant because the teacher had flu and the class was put in with another class. A miraculous escape.
