They married in December 1941 in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church Greenock.Emile never saw his native France again he remained in the United Kingdom until his premature death in 1963 at the age of 42.He left behind three daughters and a son, I am that son i'm now 53 years old and long to know this man I lost so young, who was he, what were his roots I need to know for they are my roots! My Mother is now gone to so their is no older family to tell me the things i need to know to make me a complete person before I pass on .

Dear frankpeters

This would be best posted on the Royal Navy Research Desk. Leave it here, but also repeat it there or link from it.

I would start my research with your parents'registry marriage certificate and also the entry in the church records at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church Greenock.

Also check Royal Navy Service Records here About links but they may just have your father recorded as Peters.

Good luck,

Peter

Hello Peter, At last someone one who is able to give me some constructive help, for which I thank you. I have been in touch with the church my parents were married and was delighted to find out my French Grandparents names and my Dads last known address in France, imagine after 53 years I know my paternal Grandparents! Thanks also for service details, I will try to post this info to the RNR desk when I work out how to do it again thanks very much Regards Frank Peters
