I am an 83-year-old Canadian and a member of the Canadian Veteran's Association.
During the war I was in the Canadian Postal Service serving in England. I served all over the country but what I remember most was being in the Post Office in Rottingdean High Street, attached to the Tudor Close Hotel.
We had a band made up of our own people and some of the Royal Navy who were based at Roedean School, then called HMS Vernon.
We played at some great dances at the old Butlins Hotel in Saltdean. We always had a wonderful time and that is my greatest memory of the war.
