my great gran kept a excersize book from 3rd september 1942 to may 30th 1945 whilst in a camp.
she writes as it is
may 7th Churchill going to speak to the world in a few days there will be peace for all the world unofficial news has come in that hostilitays have ceased at 24hour unconditinal surrender crowds of people went down on the compound.
may 8th Churchill speaks to the whole world 3.00 the king at9.00 Churchill said Germany would lay down arms tonight 12 oclock the islands where at peace today the 8th of may 1945 people out side singing The king spoke to the world the war has ceased Hiltler was beaten and peace has been signed
