On the night of the Clydebank Blitz my grandfather (who lived in the West End) had taken the dog out for a walk. Hours passed without him coming home. Naturally mother and grandmother were worried. When he eventually wandered in he told them that they had been standing on a hill watching Clydebank blazing.
I am not exactly sure where that hill would have been. Could someone enlighten me? Of course, the area will have been built up since then, I presume, blocking the view.
