I can remember the blitz; on March 13th 1941 there were 3 people killed on our road, two daughters of the Hewitt family and a good child who was 11 years old. There was also a land mine on Well Lane. I used to play the piano at Well Lane School fun parties from the age of six. I remember Hamilton Square lit up on VE Night.
