I had come to Worthing shopping with a neighbour and heard the air raid siren. As we were down on the seafront we needed somewhere to find shelter. We headed to the Pier Hotel (opposite Worthing pier) where we were taken in to shelter.
Above us we saw a dog fight taking place. It was very frightening to see the planes flying low and diving. I believe that one of the German planes was hit and actually came down in the sea
