MARJORIE SMITH
When the war began I was 20 years of age, and my memories are as follows:
I was married at the age of 21 and had a full white wedding, there wasn鈥檛 much food at the wedding due to rationing, and I remember using my coupons for the food.
We would have to use what we could for cooking and one of my best memories of cooking was when I baked a cake using dried eggs.
Whilst my husband was away on services in the army I would feel very down and worried just waiting for his return.
I also have memories such has playing with my whip and top, and also playing hop scotch and devil among the tailors.
