A party of ten was taken into the pryramid by an Egyptian guide, carrying a candle, and I was the last of the ten to enter. The blackness of the interior was so severe I grabbed the belt of the man in front and we were shown around the pyramid in complete darkness. When we came out again into the bright sunshine the guide asked us to make a contribution towards the cost of his candles. I replied very politely, "GET LOST!'
