I was born in Featherstone a mining village near Pontefract in Yorkshire.
When I was a small boy approximatly 9 years of age I can remember a bomb dropping near a water tower approximatly 1/2 a mile from my house and seeing the hole that the bomb made.
I also remeber seeing lights flashing when bombs were dropped over Sheffield and Humberside and also I remember ration books the first (orange) I saw when I was 12 years.
