I was in the war , when it started I was deported by the Russians in Poland. I was an orphan and I was put into a technical school. When the germans attacked the Russians took all the school children back to Russia for 18 months. I was 15 or 16. they looked after the children they thought of them as Russia鈥檚 future. They liked the children but not the grown ups. Back to Russia we went through Ukraine. The roads were littered with burning lorries. I decided to run away as I couldn鈥檛 take it anymore I hid in a forest and walked back to Poland it took me three weeks. If the Russians didn鈥檛 get you the Germans would. I walked by night and slept by day
