I remember my Aunt Jean was a cooksergent during the war, and her finace at the time was a lietenant gunner. One day, when I was about six or seven years old, they both came round to visit me. My Aunt Jean's finace Frank had brought some huge ballons with him. They were the kind they use for target practice. He gave them to me to play with, and just as he haded them over a large gust of wind blew through the garden where we were standing.
The balloons were so large, and the gust so strong, that I was lifted clear off my feet and plonked the other side of the hedge in our neighbours garden!
