I was ten when War broke out. I remember the siren alerts. We had to go to air raid shelters or a neighbour's hall or close. We had some good times as well. We would share our flask of tea and laugh and joke. You never got tired. We all had different candles. We would swap sandwiches, tell ghost stories and listen to the bombs going off. The night Clydebank got bombed was really bad. The noise was awful. Windows were blowing out, it felt as if it was your own building.
