This story was submitted to the People's War website by Plymouth Library Services on behalf of Ivy Pierce. The author fully understands the terms and conditions of the website.

During the war I worked in a munitions factory. We made shells and bombs, and we used to take them up to the paint shop where they were painted in their camouflage.

It was good working in the munitions factory, where I made quite a few friends.
