Although I am only10 years old today in 2005 I remember taking to school all the details about my Uncle Phillip who served on minesweepers.
We had photos on how they used to dress. School wear was suits, jackets and ties. Now we are more casual.
There was one article in an old newspaper where some of my Uncles comrades and himself went on strike .
Someone at school brought an old doll into school on this special research day.
The clothes of the doll were good quality cloth, the hair was smooth, and there were a lot of nails in the doll.
My Mums friend remembers going into Nissan Huts on Braunstone Park when she came to Leicester. They had to live in these huts for five years. Nothings altered then as far as the council waiting lists are concerned.
