My husband was in the RAF during the war, and he was sent first to South Africa and eventually up to the desert to North Africa. Whilst he was in North Africa there was rather an amusing incident when the King came out to see the troops. The commanding officer asked a carpenter to make a toilet for the King because, obviously, he couldn鈥檛 behave as the troops did. So the Unit鈥檚 carpenter made this toilet for the King but he never used it. After he went the carpenter put a notice on his tent 鈥淏y Appointment鈥!
