We lived opposite a church and the priest opened the crypt for all the people around about to take shelter. As soon as the siren sounded everyone took shelter. We had the woman who played the barrel organ at the pub down in the shelter one time. She used to sing 'O what a suprise' at the pub and she sang it down in the shelter to take our minds off what was happening upstairs.
