At the start of the war when my father joined the RAF my mother and I stayed in London most of the time in Forest Hill. It did get a bit dangerous and so I was evacuated to my Grandmother鈥檚 house in Littlehampton, Sussex, then later I went to stay with my aunt in Chertsey. I remember life as an evacuee was actually much more fun than staying at home!
