I was in the Royal Engineers and we were sent to Kirkook, North Iraq, it鈥檚 in the news today. We had guards on all four corners of the camp to stop people sneaking in and pinching stuff. One day I was guarding the cookhouse and I pinched a big tin of peaches and buried it in the sand. I never managed to get back for it and I鈥檝e often wondered if they found it recently, probably think it was a chemical weapon after all these years.
