I met my husband to be while I was at RAF Ballykelly. He was an engine fitter on the aircraft based there. Although he was ground crew he would have gone out on flight tests to Reykjavik, to check the engines. He used to come into our office and would have signed requisition vouchers for any aircraft parts which were required. He was a Sergeant. I had seen the signature on the vouchers and although I knew many of the men based there I wondered who Sergeant Frost was. He did eventually tell me that he had noticed me when he came into the stores office and after a time he asked me to go out with him. We ‘went out’ for three months and got married, a marriage which lasted 48 years.
