The ATC was very popular training for shoolboys and young men during the war. Here , Halifax ATC is pictured outside Heath Grammar School Halifax circa 1940
This picture shows my future husband, Bill Sutcliffe seated forth from left in the front row . The Air Training Corps was very useful preparation for life in the RAF. Life was very tough for Bill in Halifax during the 1930s and he found life as raf Aircrew almost luxurious by comparison.
