At the age of perhaps 1 year old I recall being hustled down the Air Raid Shelter in the Garden because there was something in the air that I should not see.
I'm not sure if it was a VI or German Aircraft.
It will be recalled that the fall of flying bombs was announced as being in a different place than where they fell. so A flying Bomb landing in London would be announced as falling in Kent or Suurey. So that when they sent the later Vi's they would be set to land North of London.
